The Departmental Citation in Sociology is an award recognizing undergraduate excellence in the work of the Department. The Departmental Citation is awarded annually in May to one graduating Sociology senior.
Eligibility Requirements:
Minimum 3.7 major g.p.a
Completion of at least 100 units overall
Intent to complete all degree requirements by the summer term of the award year
Completion of at least 6 courses in Sociology (including transfer coursework)

Students must meet all eligibility criteria. Applicants are only allowed to apply once in their Berkeley career.
All application information will be reviewed to confirm eligibility. Students may need to be logged in with their CalNet ID and passphrase to view the Citation Application.
The 2024 Departmental Citation deadline is 12 PM, Friday, April 12, 2024.
Students will be required to upload their most significant body of work in sociology, such as research paper/project or an honors thesis draft. All materials will be reviewed by a faculty panel.
