Vijayakumar wins paper awards

PhD student Gowri Vijayakumar received two awards at the American Sociological Association meetings in August.

She received the 2015 Outstanding Graduate Student Paper Award from the ASA Sociology of Development Section for her paper, " "I'll be like water": Gender, class, and flexible aspirations at the edge of India's knowledge economy, which was published in Gender and Society in 2013. She also received the  2015 Martin Levine Student Paper Prize from the Sociologists' AIDS Network for her paper, Viral politics: Traveling AIDS policies and sex worker citizenship.
