Research Interests:
race, culture, political sociology, class, democratic theory

I am a cultural sociologist of inequality focusing on how differences of race, class, and gender intersect and impact life outcomes. As a scholar, I pursue intersectional mixed-methods research drawing connections between people's daily experience and their long-term trajectories. In the classroom, I help build course models that increase motivation and content learning by connecting original research to real-world interventions. In my practical work, I support community-based organizations in designing and sustaining new models to equalize cultural, economic, and political power.
