<p>The best place to learn about me is my website, http://abigailandrews.com, where I have more information about my research, my teaching, my personal history, and my public engagement. Most broadly, my interests lie in gender, development, migration and the politics of globalization. I am currently in the process of writing my dissertation. The project, a four-sited ethnography of migrant communities in California and Oaxaca, Mexico, explores why different systems of Mexican migration take on contrasting gender dynamics, and how anti-globalization and feminist politics emerge from these migrant labor systems. I am intrigued by how migrants and their communities become politically activated in different ways, and by the intersections and contradictions between feminism, anti-imperialism and class-based movements.
