Curriculum Vitae: 

Jeffrey Weng holds a BA in Political Science from Yale University and is a former Yale-China Fellow. He is currently studying toward the Ph.D. in sociology at UC Berkeley. Jeffrey's current research focuses on the emergence of Modern Standard Chinese (a.k.a. Mandarin) as the national and official language of China in the early twentieth century. In his spare time, he sings in an Episcopal church choir and is studying organ on a UCB Music Department scholarship.
