Brian Powers Receives AC Innovation in Teaching Award

Dr. Brian Powers was selected as a recipient of the 2015 American Cultures Innovation in Teaching Award for his courses "Principles of Sociology," "The Sociology of Education," and "Senior Seminar in the Theory and Practice of Inclusive Schooling: Racial Diversity, English-Language Learners, and Students with Disability."   This award is given to faculty whose teaching significantly enhances students' learning in the AC classroom.   Brian 's commitment to 'community engaged scholarship' (teaching and research forged with our broader communities and local organizations) and the American Cultures curriculum was honored at our annual awards ceremony on May 6th in the Morrison Library. Brian's course's and his work will be highlighted in our next newsletter.
