Dori-Taylor Carter (she/her/hers) is a first-year PhD student, Chancellor's Fellow, and NSF Graduate Research Fellow. Her research focuses on the construction of identity categories and populations, the political representation of identity groups, and the mobilization of shared identities and experiences toward collective liberation. Dori-Taylor hails from Winnetka, Los Angeles, California and received her B.A. in American Studies with minors in French and Sociological Research from Northwestern University. She credits her academic and professional journey to the mentors and community gained from the Posse Foundation and the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship.
