Gisselle Rodriguez Benitez
Gisselle (she/her) is a first-year PhD student. She is interested in sociological approaches to studying economic phenomena, particularly non-college paths into the tech industry and the broader valuation of post-secondary credentials within the labor market.
Prior to doctoral studies, Gisselle was a Research Associate at the Annenberg Institute for School Reform at Brown University and a Fulbright student researcher at the Center for Educational Justice at the Catholic University of Chile. She’s worked in R, Stata, and Python to study matters of education policy, such as the teacher labor market, spillover effects of charter schools, and school district expenditures.
Gisselle has a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Northeastern University. She is a first-generation college graduate, and happy to connect with students from similar backgrounds interested in pursuing graduate school.
