Jeffrey Lockhart is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of California, Berkeley. His research explores the social and political dimensions of science and technology as well as the contested boundaries of gender and sexual categories.
Before coming to Berkeley, Lockhart was a James S. McDonnell Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Chicago. He earned a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Michigan in 2022, after an M.Phil. in Multi-Disciplinary Gender Studies at Cambridge University in 2015 (where he was a Gates-Cambridge Scholar), an M.S. in Computer Science from Fordham University in 2014, and a B.S. in Computer Science and Women's Studies from Fordham University in 2013.
