Sociology Peer Advisors are trained to answer general questions regarding the Sociology major requirements, declaring the major, Sociology courses, course registration, and events in the department. If you have an interest in gaining valuable advising skills while helping other Sociology students, please consider applying for the Sociology Peer Advisor position. Recruitment and training of Sociology Peer Advisors is done annually. We require a 2 semester commitment to the program (excluding the summer and winter breaks). Students may choose to receive either a department award/stipend or academic credit for their participation.

Hi! I am from Chicago and am a fourth year on the Women's Rowing team. I love to travel, read, cook and go to museums. I found that majoring in Sociology allows me to think outside of the box when considering how our everyday lives are conducted within society. My special interests are culture and global development. I am excited to be a Sociology Peer Adviser to help fellow or intended sociology majors map out the best Sociology degree path possible.
