Every year, Sociology undergraduates are recognized for their high academic achievement and outstanding undergraduate research. We boast Haas Scholars, McNairs, and University Medalists. Our Senior Honors Program is an intensive, year-long program in which students conduct independent research and write an Honors Thesis.

Enrolling for Sociology Courses on Cal Central.
- Phase I: All upper division Sociology courses are open to officially declared Sociology majors only.
As a declared sociology major, you will have a distinct advantage in enrolling in upper division sociology courses.
Eligibility. You are eligible to declare if you have the following: 1) a 2.0 cumulative as well as a 2.0 major g.p.a. with at least one course completed in the major; and 2) the three prerequisite courses completed or in progress (see Major Requirements).
